Timothy M Jones's Bio:

            In 1999, while serving on active duty, Timothy M Jones was stalked, raped, and hazed. These traumatic events altered the next twenty years of his life. Jones endured a ten-year journey of struggle, hitting his rock bottom.            After receiving assistance from the Department of Veteran Affairs, Jones navigated past each adversity, reclaiming his “colorful” voice. Today, Jones’s purpose and mission is to inspire hope and empower healing of those who have had encounters with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and sexual assault.              In 2015, the John C. Maxwell Teamrecognized Jones as a Top 100 candidate for the 2015 John C. Maxwell Leadership Award. Jones walked 203 miles from Pensacola to Tallahassee with a goal of raising awareness for approximately 5,000 homeless veterans in the State of Florida, earning recognition from Governor Rick Scott.            During the 9th Annual Student Veterans of America conference, Jones presented, "Taking Back My Life: From Victim to Victor", and served on the "Do Ask Do Tell" panel to discuss LGBTQ student veteran transition on college campuses.  The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators or NASPA invited Jones to speak during their Symposium for Military Connected Students.             The Florida Humanities Council and The Telling Project highlighted Jones’s journey with the production of Telling: Pensacola. This production allows six area veterans the opportunity to educate their community on the effects of military service. Jones facilitates Sexual Assault and Rape Prevention trainings. Jones has facilitated trainings for Hofstra University, Wright State University, Kent State University, Hill Air Force Base, Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, Region One Trauma Informed Care, Seventh Special Forces Group, and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. Jones has become a top-of-mind keynote speaker.
